hollow.

A remote little coffee shop tucked away in the Sunset. The outside is slightly shabby and is something you'd drive by without a second glance. But if you take the time to go in for a peek, you'll see that it's beautifully decorated like a huntsman's lodge, selling odd, quirky trinkets and making the smoothest cup of coffee to be found in the entire district.

One of my good friends recently got married, and here are some old shots of when we went dress shopping in San Francisco.

cat in the closet.

My cat's favorite hiding place is in my parents' closet. Too bad he can never really get away from me, although as you can see, he tries.

chicago nights

Chicago is most beautiful by night. The oppressive heat has floated away, leaving behind only the slightly sticky reminder of a hot summer day,

and you stand on the shores of Lake Michigan looking across the glimmering water at this collision of lights and concrete and life,

and marvel at the magnificence of man and technology. beautiful, for better or worse.

bridges hall, claremont colleges.

I started performing here when I was 11, and for the next seven years with the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra.

Music is an outlet through which every feeling and emotion can be expressed distinctly, much more so than through any verbal or written form.

the university of chicago.

Lush and green, I thought I could squeeze the water out of the ivy growing along the walls and from the leaves growing on their bushel-like trees.

The English Gothic style of the campus architecture added to the fairytale atmosphere (fairytale for me, perhaps dungeon-esque for the actual students) as I climbed rusted ladders and stairwells, walked under stone arches, peeked into professors' offices, and sat in comfortable silence on old, wooden benches.

Everything is a fairytale in the summer. When winter comes, Chicago will be covered in a blanket of whiteness.
